This is a gentle restorative yin yoga class for individuals affected by cancer. This beautifully soul enriching class is an opportunity for you to receive respite and self nurture.
You do not have to have previous experience in yoga to participate in this class. Restorative yin simply offers you the opportunity to surrender by allowing the earth and props to be the support you need.
Restorative Yin is a type of yoga that is very gentle. It’s main purpose is to calm the fight-flight system and activate a relaxation response. Poses are supported with a variety of props and participants are asked to “melt” into a posture for three to five minutes. Research shows that by participating in a restorative yin class weekly, one can bringbalance to the nervous system and decreases anxiety related energy.
Our Candlelight Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra is designed for individuals affected by chronic stress or simply looking for a relaxing class where they can restore their body and mind while connecting with their spirit.
Join us as we receive gentle support from bolsters, wrap ourselves in the comfort of a blanket and surrender to the peace of soft candlelight as we dissolve all of our stress and worry away with breath.
Restorative yoga is a nurturing practice that soothes the central nervous system and creates a safe space to feel connected to and supported. The practice heavily relies on yoga props to support you and invite a nurturing, comfortable space that encourages release. This class is designed for all levels and is trauma sensitive. No yoga experience required.
